Liturgical Ministries
Altar Servers
Sixth through eighth grade students from the parish school and
religious education program are trained under the direction of Fr.
Bartosz and Marion Krucek. Teams of servers (usually three) are
assigned to scheduled Sunday liturgies by Marion Krucek. Servers are
also assigned for weddings, funerals, and other special Masses.
Art and Environment
The Art and Environment committee works to provide a worship
space that is attractive as well as a reflection of the images of
scripture. They decorate the church according to the liturgical season
and seek to provide an explanation of the seasonal liturgical
decorations and improve the vestibule space as well as the main church.
Cindy Brejcha coordinates this ministry. To join, please call Carol at
708-636-5060.
Choir
Providing for the musical needs of the liturgy are several
choirs under the direction of Music Minister, Peg Mooney. Choirs
include children's choir, youth choir, teen choir and adult choir. The
adults sing at Sunday Mass each week, while the younger choirs sing at
holidays and designated Sunday Masses. The choirs also conduct an
annual Christmas concert as well. Peg Mooney also recruits and
coordinates the services of several cantors and directs a cherub choir
for 2nd grade.
Extraordinary Ministers
Over ninety parishioners serve the parish as Extraordinary
Ministers of Communion. They assist in the distribution of communion at
the weekday and weekend Masses. The ministry is directed by Russell
Klatt, Don Stanner & Tom Hamilton and Andrea Klatt.

Sacristans

worship space. Their duties include insuring that the St. Germaine
church is clean and ready for liturgical use. They also prepare candles
for liturgical and parish use and keep liturgical linens, albs, and
vestments clean and available for use.
Ushers
A large corps of ushers assist in providing order and a sense of Christian hospitality for the parishioners and visitors to St. Germaine. They help locate seating at weekly Masses and directing attendees to it, assist handicapped with seating and the reception of the Eucharist. They also take up collections with gentle courtesy, enlist people who will carry gifts to the altar at the Offertory and distribute church bulletins at departure. They are on hand to offer compassion and seek assistance in any genuine emergency
